Intro


The tour begins in the near vicinity of Dubrovnik, in Konavle region, where you will spend first two days of your cycling adventure. In the next days you continue to Pelješac peninsula, followed by the island of Korčula. Island cycling continues on the island of Mljet (national park), from where you will embark on a ferry to Dubrovnik. Total duration of the tour is 7 days (6 overnights), and you get the chance to visit 2 islands (one with a national park), peninsula, rural area of Dubrovnik: Konavle valley, Korčula island, Pelješac peninsula, magical island of Mljet and magnificent Dubrovnik. The road where you will cycle takes you through the villages, vineyards, secluded bays, and medieval towns – you get the chance to stop the ride, take a breath and a sip of water, and enjoy spectacular views that are offered to you on this magical bike tour.

Hybrid bikes: 20 EUR per day
Road bikes: Cannondale Optimo (alluminium) 30 EUR per day or Trek Emonda (carbon fibre) 35 EUR per day

E-bikes: EUR 30 EUR per day

Bikes: Cannondale and Trek, trekking (hybrid), road or E bikes, come equipped with; rack bag, lock, spare tire, repair kit, pump, rack for the panniers, helmet, water bottle.

Trip includes: all lodging, breakfast daily, luggage transfers, at some islands where hotels are within walking distances to the port transfer of the bags is not included. Upon booking we send GPX routes and maps and all relevant information for your trip. GPX routes and maps please download to your smart phone or Garmin. Possible rent a Garmin device from us.
Transportation as in program, suggestions for visitation and dining, our assistance when it is needed.

Not included: travel insurance, flights, shuttle services during the cycling routes if is not mentioned in the itinerary, tickets to NP Mljet and entry fees for museums or activities not specified as part of the tour package, meals and drinks not specifically listed as included, tips.

Itinerary

1st day: Arrival to Dubrovnik Airport

Meeting at Dubrovnik airport and short shuttle to Konavle, fitting the bikes, briefing with our representative and warm up ride in Konavle valley.

Overnight in Konavle


2nd day: cycling in valley of Konavle countryside

Route:  Gruda – Zvekovica – Ljuta  - Gruda  (circular route,  35 – 55  km)

Total distance approx. Up to 40 km,  type of ground: asphalt

Or longer route: Gruda – Cilipi – Prevlaka – Gruda (circular route up to 65 km)

This day you will spend cycling in farming area of Dubrovnik,  cycling route follows the valley and river Ljuta, villages of Zvekovica (with eventually visit of town of Cavtat) and group of the villages in Gornja Banda.

Night Stop: Konavle countryside


3rd day: Konavle – Peljesac peninsula – Korcula island.

Total bike distance 50 km (climb, total gain 670 m)

On day 3rd we do car shuttle from Konavle to Peljesac peninsula and Korcula island. All those who like longer bike rides can cycle Peljesac peninsula bike route (up to 50 km), this route is very scenic but with some demanding parts. If not cycling along peninsula then it is possible shuttle to Korcula and shorter bike ride on the island.

Overnight Lumbarda, Korcula island 


4th day: Korcula cycling

Route: From Lumbarda To Korcula town – from Korcula town to bay of Racisce (35-55 km)

On Korcula island you have choice to select 2 bike routes; shorter and longer with more climbing.
Easy route by the coast; distance 36 km, elevation about 460 m. The route is possible to upgrade with the extension.

Longer route; Lumbarda- Pupnat- Čara – Racisce – Korcula (with some challenging parts)
The total route distance is approximately 55 km, maximum elevation gain is about 1000 m, type of the ground: asphalt.

Second day on Korcula island we suggest a circular ride from the village Lumbarda to Korcula town where in the old town you can visit Cathedral, house of Marco Polo, and many sights in this historical
place...after town sightseeing you will bike along coastal road to picturesque bay of Racisce, after eventually lunch there, you return the same road back to Lumbarda.

5th Day: Travel to the island of Mljet, biking in a national park area (20-35 km)

This is a day when you explore another island, the green island of Mljet. North west part of the island is a national park with two salt lakes.

You can explore island of Mljet on 2 routes, easy one around the lakes or longer one that takes you to the inland of the island.

Easy route: total distance 20 km, max. elevation gain 200 m, type of ground: asphalt, (paved roads)

Longer route: 35 km and total elevation gain 800 m
Today you visit the delightful island of Mljet, famous by its natural protected area with two salt lakes and many historical monuments that date from ancient times.

After breakfast head to port Korcula where you take a jet ferry to Mljet, journey time about 30 min. Your cycle ride starts in village Pomena or Polace (two small towns just outside national park territory) and your route will take you around the salt lakes, through villages Babine Kuće and Soline, around lakes back to town Pomena or Polače.

Additional ride on the island: to the village of Blato, lakes and countryside. Total distance about 35 km

Night stop: Mljet (Pomena or Polače)


6th day: Travel to Dubrovnik, free time in Dubrovnik

Today you take a jet ferry (catamaran) from Mljet to Dubrovnik.
You spend the last day of the tour in Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik can be busy with the traffic and you cannot do much with the bikes, but we suggest to spend your time walking/ sightseeing in the Old city, just wandering around in the old town area can give you sense and atmosphere of Dubrovnik.

Upon arrival in Dubrovnik you will be taken to your accommodation, afternoon is free from biking.

7th day: the end of the tour, departure

Check out and shuttle to Dubrovnik airport or any other address in Dubrovnik if you are extending your stay.
