This 5-day, self-guided bike tour invites you to explore a region steeped in ancient heritage and adorned with stunning landscapes, from the charming island of Korčula to the Pelješac Peninsula and the countryside of Dubrovnik.

Explore southern Croatia’s stunning coastline and countryside on this self-guided bike tour. Ride through the picturesque island of Korčula, with its rolling vineyards, hidden bays, and medieval charm. Discover the rugged beauty of the Pelješac Peninsula, famous for its terraced vineyards, coastal villages, and the historic walled town of Ston. Finally, cycle through the serene Konavle countryside, where lush valleys, olive groves, and cypress-lined roads meet the sparkling Adriatic and views of Montenegro. You get to visit all of this at your own pace, on a bike! You get to spend your evenings in the narrow streets vibrating with life, enjoying some local disches and world-renowned wines from this region.

This route combines unspoiled nature, ancient history, and exceptional food and wine, offering a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.

Trip includes: all lodging, breakfast daily, luggage transfers, at some islands where hotels are within walking distances to the port carrying of the bags is not included. Upon booking we sent GPX routes and maps and all relevant information for your trip. Please download GPX routes and maps to your smart phones or Garmin device. It is possible to rent a Garmin device from us.

Transportation as in program, ferry tickets, suggestions for visitation and dining, our assistance when it is needed.

Road bikes: Cannondale Optimo (alluminium) 30 EUR per day or Trek Emonda (carbon fibre) 35 EUR per day

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Korčula Island

Arrival: Meet your guide/driver at Dubrovnik Airport or another Dubrovnik address.

Transfer: Scenic drive along the Adriatic coastline to the Pelješac Peninsula, followed by a ferry ride to Korčula Island.

Cycling Option: Depending on your arrival time, enjoy an introductory ride along Korčula's coastline.

Route: Lumbarda → Korčula Town → Račišće Bay

Distance: 36 km | Elevation: 500 m

This ride offering stunning coastal views, picturesque bays, and the charm of Korčula Town’s medieval streets.

Interesting Fact: Korčula is believed to be the birthplace of explorer Marco Polo and is renowned for its Venetian Gothic architecture and vibrant cultural traditions, including the ancient sword dance, Moreška.

Night Stop: Lumbarda, Korčula Island

Day 2: Inland exploration of Korčula Island

Cycling Route: Explore the heart of Korčula's countryside and coastal trails.

Route: Lumbarda → Pupnat → Čara → Smokvica → Brna

Distance: 55 km | Elevation: 1000 m

Cycle through lush vineyards producing Pošip wine, charming rural villages, and dramatic coastal vistas.

Interesting Highlights:

Pošip Wine: Sample this renowned white wine, unique to Korčula and celebrated worldwide.

Korčula Town: Its narrow streets are designed to funnel the cool sea breeze, a testament to Venetian urban planning.

Hidden Beaches: The island is dotted with secluded bays perfect for a relaxing break.

Day 3: Cycling Across the Pelješac Peninsula

Morning: Transfer to Pelješac Peninsula via ferry. Your cycling adventure starts in Potomje, avoiding steep road sections.

Route: Potomje → Trstenik → Žuljana → Putnikovići → Ston

Distance: 50 km | Elevation: 530 m

This scenic ride weaves through vineyards, picturesque coastal towns, and olive groves.

Interesting Highlights:

Pelješac Wines: Taste the robust red wines made from Plavac Mali grapes, often compared to Zinfandel.

Ston: Famous for its medieval walls, salt pans, and oysters from Mali Ston Bay. The Ston Walls, often called the "European Great Wall," stretch 5 km and are among the longest in Europe.

Local Cuisine: Enjoy fresh seafood and traditional dishes at a coastal konoba (tavern).

Day 4: Cycling Through Konavle Countryside and Coast

Morning: Car transfer to Konavle, the rural heartland of Dubrovnik.

Cycling Route Options:

Short Route: Valley loop (35 km | Elevation 400 m)

Long Route: Coastal and valley combination (65 km | Elevation 1000 m)

Interesting Highlights:

Konavle Valley: Known for its vineyards, olive groves, and traditional stone villages.

Molunat: A peaceful seaside town with pristine beaches.

Prevlaka Peninsula: Croatia’s southernmost point, offering views of Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor.
